Welcome Back Michael Ninn!

Michael Ninn welcomes you to his artcore gallery

Michael Ninn is one of our favorite clients. The highbrow adult video director has always been good to us, and we had a great business relationship. Unfortunately, the involvement with a certain major strip club chain caused great problems for all, and put Ninn on the defensive, reclaiming his empire and rebuilding his brand.

Last week, Sherry got a phone call from Ninn, who has made great progress on his web site, and is ready to gradually increase the volume of his publicity and marketing. Michael Ninn is celebrating 20 years working in the adult industry. The first press release is out and already posted at:

Celtic Winged Domina

Celtic Winged Domina

The Celtic Winged Domina was May in the 1996 calendar. I wouldn’t call this one of the better drawings or one of the more popular. On the other hand, it does illustrate a big part of what was starting to get attention.

The original is about 8.5×11, on what looks like bristol paper. While the action is a little stilted, this small drawing is crammed with detail. There are padlocks on the boots. The boots are designed to show off part of the foot. The stockings include two knot work patterns. There’s a lot of symbols added in, from the moon/antler combo, a scarab collar, and Egyptian style eyes.

Many times, drawings like were a testing ground to see what I could experiment with. I’d try out new styles of shoes or boots, and was always trying to come up with new clothing ideas. While drawing, I’d hear people say “Look at all the detail!” a lot.

The original is available, and is currently unframed.

The Cycle Mistress Will See you Now

The Cycle Mistress, or Chrome Fembot

While one of my strongest pieces, Cycle Mistress never made it into the Dominatrix Calendar series. I was going for a sci-fi look involving chrome pieces with a motorcycle look. I incorporated tank parts, springs, joints, and screens, then added a couple of cyberpunk touches. Cyberpunk was still a popular genre at the time. The background had to be all done by hand in one night. I knew if I didn’t do it all in one shot, it would go sideways if once I came back to finish.

The big reason she never made it in was she didn’t fit the philosophy behind the calendars. While it is acceptable to see an object as living, the skull-like feature of the head and mechanical body parts presented a cold and unliving image with Femdom attributes. I felt compelled to complete it. As a motorcycle and sci-fi fan, I loved working on her, but the piece could be interpreted as saying a Dominatrix is not human, which is not something I wanted to convey.

The piece did make it into zine-styled books I self published called Blood, Babes, and Bullets Made America Great, and Dauntless.
