UPDATE:

The interview with Your Kinky Friends, by Nicholas Tanek on YouTube went reasonably well. I’m still getting used to being back on air and doing interviews. Hope I didn’t rag on Coop and Olivia too much. It was nice to give some love and shout outs artists I love like Corpsetits, Amber Carr, Mechanical Pencil Girl and The Smut Peddler on Instagram.

Meanwhile, you may be wondering what the deal is with the big Fetish For Life thing here on the page. Well, I’ve had a CafePress account for over 10 years, it just didn’t do well on sales. So, it got to the point where I’d just check in on it now and then. They did an upgrade to more of a social network format. I’d make adjustments here and there, but not much was happening. Like Etsy, not much is still happening, but this time enough not much to get my attention. There have been some sales as opposed to large periods of indifference.

So I’ve uploaded some new art, upgraded some pieces, and will be doing more with the site as time allows. The art above did go live recently, but I’m holding off on a big push. You can find the products at https://www.cafepress.com/dd/112592683

Part of what I’m holding off on is I’m not sure how this looks on black shirts. Old school Cafe Press treated white areas as transparent. So I ordered a test print today. When it comes, I’ll do an unboxing video and we’ll see how it came out.

Erotic Art of Avatar

Avatar 35 Anniversary

Avatar is more commonly known now as the gay side of BDSM in Los Angeles. When I moved down to LA in the mid 90’s, BDSM groups were very closeted and it could be difficult to find your way in. Avatar was one place you could catch a break. While primarily gay, their classes were open to the community and they had huge respect.

They’re celebrating 35 years of erotic and BDSM art at Highways in Santa Monica this month. That’s really going back to our roots, as Highways was a quiet supporter of the BDSM community during the 80’s and 90’s. Threshold had their orientations and classes there and I believe Sherry Rose still does BDSM performance art there on occasion.

The show is on display through March 10th and includes work by Marc Acuna, Axel, Butch B, Dean Cameron, Oxana Diaz, Leo Garcia, Wim Griffith, Ross Johnston, Michael Kirwan,Sean Platter and more.
