Tattoo Flash in the Flesh, Snarky McGee and Rubber Time

Snarky McGee, Scourge of Roller Derby Referees

I am way behind in my blog posts already. Last weekend, it made more sense to do things than blog about them, so I had a half-dozen pictures just waiting to be uploaded. This morning, I was ready to tackle them, and other items, and found this item front and center on my facebook page.

Our Moms would be so proud…Not! But it was still a lot of fun. Meet Snarky McGee, my cousin Kyle’s alter ego at the roller derby. Kyle is a referee and he’s been wanting a tattoo of his persona for ages. About a month ago, he asked me to whip up the design. I gladly obliged, and here’s the original.

Original Snarky McGee Drawing

When doing a flash design, I like to leave the color up to the tattoo artist. The color doesn’t get transferred anyway. I’m really happy with how the design turned out and love the way the tattoo artist added in additional details like Snarky’s name on the hat.

Continuing progress on Rubber Time's tattoo design

Meanwhile, progress continues on the tattoo design for Rubber Time. He’s good with the boots. I asked about a week back if he wanted a corset, unfortunately, he waited until after I started inking in the torso to say yes. I’m still going back and forth on that one. I’m penciling a corset in, but it’s not really adding much to the work. I think he’ll be ok if a corset doesn’t make it in.

It may stop, but it never ends…
