Getting Crafty – Fridge Magnets

So back in April, Miss Cassie and I went to Kinky Crafting at MacLeod Ale Brewing in Van Nuys. Domina Mara hosts it and that month’s craft was Fridge Magnets. Before us were tiny glass squares and adhesive magnets, and these were very easy for us to do. Cut out a piece of paper, put it on the sticky side of the magnet, put on a drop of glue and place the glass on top. Cute.

So I drew a tiny high heel. You can see that on the left. But I wasn’t satisfied. So I measured with the magnets three squares vertically, then drew a corseted model in bondage on it. Then I cut them out and they stand alone well, or back together as one look. We’ve got the ball gag with handcuff ear rings on top, the collar ring and corset in the middle, and the corset, latex knickers, stocking tops and heart shaped tattoo on the bottom magnet.

This is just a one off, probably makes a good gift. But I’m not ready to do a bunch of these. But I might be open to something larger I could do with prints, but that’s something further down the road.

Ballerina Boot on Toned Paper

There’s a lot going. DomCon is this month. Mia Darque is in town. Studio 58 is putting together Naughty Knowledge in August, and there’s plenty to do for The Dungeon Store. But I still have moments where I’m either out trying to catch a breath, run an errand, or just waiting. So the sketch pad comes with me.

I have a sketchbook with toned paper. Something I should have been tinkering with long ago. It’s great for figure drawing, shading and the highlights really pop. I just simply started with the lettering a month or so ago, and Thursday night while I was Kinky Karaoke with Mia, I started sketching in the boot. Last night I added in the reflections. This looks like a good time to call it done.

Not sure where the art is going from here. If it goes on something like Etsy, I’m not charging a lot for it. I might cut it out and use it as decoupage on something. We’ll see.

More Purple Shoe and Unexpected Sketch Results

Quck update. I finally got to start on the red ink background. One of the hardest parts of doing a piece like this is waiting to pump in a bunch of color on a broad area. When I was younger, I didn’t think so much about where I was putting down ink, but I’ve smeared enough lines and got graphite where I didn’t want it from being impatient that there’s now some rules how I do this. I’ll typically ink from the center and move out, erasing pencil marks as I go. The red is looking really, really good, and I’m looking forward to adding a couple of coats.

This kinda happened by accident tonight. I had some downtime on the road, and this was left over from a Gallery Girls model drawing workshop. I needed to do some inking exercises and had some fun with this. Tonight, I was tweaking curves in photoshop and the pencil sketch marks started turning white.
