I’m a little shocked. I’d swear that I posted this piece ages ago, but could not find the art, nor the post on this site. Which I guess is a good thing. Because, the piece I wanted to use, Imp With A Whip, I don’t have in print quality, so that’s going to have to wait until I can rescan it. So the winner this week is the Femdom art piece, Zero G SM.

In 1998, I was seriously considering putting together an art book.  I didn’t have enough pieces to do another calendar. A book was less time sensitive. I could re-use strong pieces from the Dominatrix Calendar series. This was going to be the cover.

The book, obviously didn’t make it. Although who knows, if there’s enough momentum, I can always put something together based on new art.

Sunday night, slowing down

Some say that going over 14 hours without sleep is akin to having had one shot of booze. At this point I’m over 16 hours and it feels more like I’ve downed a whole pint flask.

We got out of the Teamsters meeting early today, which got me to the Shrine for the comic expo just before 1pm. I spent most of the time walking around looking at broken toys, cases and cases of comics, action figures still in the packaging, porn, porn, hentai and porn. What’s amazing at a show like this is the distance between value and what something will sell for. For example, I found some of my favorite comics selling for less than the original price, and other comics for over $50 bucks. Scott saw Walking Dead comics going for over $200, but I’ll get to that later.

And I could not for the life of me find a good place to freaking sit down and just rest for a while with the sketchpad. I almost asked Luther if he’d let me sit down at his porno dvd booth.

Why did I think that I could find a place to sit down to begin with? Oh, duh, because last time I was there, they had a panel with chairs for the audience. This time, with two actresses from The Walking Dead, there were more vendors, more customers, lines for autographs, and no chairs.

So the good news is the event was a success, even for me. I picked up some comics I’ve always wanted to check out for less than what they originally sold for.  Thanks to Roger’s friend Luther, I may also have a place to sit down and draw when the next expo comes around.

Southpaw is an old piece from the 1997 Dominatrix Calendar. I know at the time I was skirting some lines regarding nudity because while her top is covered, you can barely make out the thong she’s wearing. Which makes this just right for Cafe Press. For Cafe Press, I’ve taken out the cyberskulls. They just kind of get in the way on the merchandise, but I’m pondering a way to work them into other spots.

She’s wielding an electric crop, an idea I’ve had for over a decade, and someone finally started making one recently. The idea I had came from the violet wands circulating about at the time, but the recent ones are for tens units.
