Season’s Beatings 2021!

TieGalBWWeb

Salutations and the best of the season to you…

Today, I’m in a strange state of “Where were we…” On Xmas 2019, I was with family out of town, the last time I saw my Mom before she died of cancer. I had taken these drawings with me, and was starting to get some coloring done on computer. About a day or so later, I had to head back to Los Angeles. There was a lot coming up. That year, I did a group show in Pasadena and a solo show in San Francisco. I knew 202o wasn’t going to be easy, but had no idea how hard we were going to get hit.

So I pulled the artwork from that Christmas.

TieGuy

I like it, it’s much better than I remember. The guy was just about finished, and I needed to start coloring in the gal. I had already been coloring in the hard copy originals by hand.

Are we going to see this for sale next December. Who knows? I’m in the stage of not taking anything for granted. But I will say I’m questioning more and more what I’m doing and where I’m going with things. The bright side of the existential questions is I’m remember not just what could have been but what can be, and how much fun I’d have.

Be merry!

WIP: Mia Darque Femdom Art

WIPMiaDarque2

Mia Darque over at https://www.justsayred.com is a great friend I made over at DomCon. She’s big into cosplay and geeky stuff. Mia’s wanted me to do a portrait, and I had a moment to work something in. This is a few minutes at a time here and there, but this week with Thanksgiving I had a chance to work in some ink between turkey and family.

It’s much more subtle and in the line of what I used to do long ago. But this isn’t intended to be a hardcore piece. We’ve brought Mia into the Leji Matsumoto/Captain Harlock/Star Blazers/999 universe. It needed more diversity anyway.

Also started a sketch for DomCom Los Angeles, but it is too faint to photograph today.

DomCon NOLA and Lips.Social

To open, DomCon New Orleans is just around the corner. Coming this Halloween weekend to the Crown Astor in the French Quarter. Go to DomCon.com for full details.

I’m not showing this year. But I will be there working as the event publicist and the sketch pad is coming with me.

Meanwhile… there’s a new social media in town called Lips.Social It’s an adults only IG style site, aimed primarily at LGBTQ+ performers and fans, with a very organic feel. Queer artists are welcome and I’ve had great experiences there when handling social networking for a client. Instead of bots, they have people. So instead of just opening a second account and hoping I didn’t get banned. I asked if I could open one for Fetish Artist, and they said YASSSSSSS!

When opening an account, you have to give them kind of a mission statement of your intentions. Sounds odd, but it weeds out the trolls and bots. Here was mine:

I really like the organic nature of this site. While I’m not a performer in the traditional sense, I’ve been in the adult business for over 20 years and the BDSM community for over 25. I want to see this platform grow and be a part of that growth.

It would be easy to say I’m not a sex worker in the traditional sense, but I’ve reminded my peers that one of Annie Sprinkle’s first busts was for selling popcorn at a theatre showing ‘Deep Throat.’ Law and society do not see much difference between what I do in adult and sex work. When it comes down, I get marched out in handcuffs too. The difference between art and pornography is not the lighting, it’s the consequences. Pornographers say “It’s my first amendment right!” Artists say “You’re fucking right I did it! I’m going to do it again, and you’re going to have to kill me to stop me!”

I’m an artist first, and a gender second. I’m queer, not in the bow tie and ukulele sense. Instead, in that my influences were armed SF Lesbians and Dykes who showed me I should be proud of my Fem side. I can be strong and Fem, no matter what my clothing that day. I’m old enough to appreciate terms like Genderqueer, Genderfluid, and Non-Binary without clutching my pearls when called certain pronouns. I’m more of a verb person anyway. Let’s do this!

Hope they like it. It may stop, but it never ends!
