Today was a mess, and it’s not over yet. There’s stuff I need to get out for DomCon New Orleans. The Dungeon Store needs attention. Then there’s the big client I don’t talk about here. But there comes a point where no, I have to walk away from the computer and do something with my hands. Tonight, there was a lot of cooking, but I swore I was going to dedicate about half an hour to drawing. As I sat in front of the TV, I realized a promise I made to myself was to do a drawing of Stolas from Helluva Boss as a pony boy.
And here’s the thing, Pony Boy Blitzy is on the canvas, line art just started, and it just needs paint from here. But I had no clue where to really start with Stolas. He’s a feathered challenge on it’s own. While Blits is basically a giant, curved V with sharp teeth, Stolas is… feathered, a little heart shaped, with feathers everywhere. Then it hit me that I had taken about three tries before I was even remotely serious about putting Blitz0 on Bristol board. Time to study Stolas.
And we’re off to a smashing start. I used Harvest Moon Festival for reference. The beginning bedroom bondage scene is a great reference for both Stolas and Blitz0. What I’ll have to change on future sketches is to have Stolas face the other direction, which there are great scenes for that too.
The equestrian gear is easier this time around. I left out the bridal straps, changed the collar, put studs instead of spikes on the headband, and Stolas needs two sets of blinders instead of one. But we’ve got the arm, I mean wing binders, and the headgear looks right. Even the horse ears felt a little easier to do.
I don’t see myself necessarily finishing this piece, but even if I didn’t it, could still go up for charity somewhere. But on to other things.
Speaking of other things, my clients at The Dungeon Store have a couple of very special things. On the left is their Violet Wand Holster. Pop the holster onto your belt and slide in your violet wand while using a contact cable, or clip the holster onto your subbie when grounding them for play. The holsters are shockingly handy. On the left is the ribbon corset, these are paste on jewelry with loops. They’re reusable and can be used on the back, legs, belly and more. They come with an extra ribbon and sets can be combined for more effects. It’s easy to get creative with them and they look awesome. The holsters and corsets are not yet available on the site.
