I was about to post about what happened this weekend, when I noticed I still had a draft left over from the Tom of Finland art festival. You’ve seen the Halloween card and paddle I whipped up for the event, but here’s a little more.
Many kind thanks to the Tom of Finland Foundation for having me at the event. I had great neighbors in the artists area (now if I could just remember their names, getting old sucks). The cards were a hit and I got a lot of compliments on my new style of black background art with silver gel pen. There’ll be more of this in the future.
Saturday after the artists area closed, things got wild with drag performances and an amazing belly dancing group. I got to hang out with Crazy Sharon for a bit and ducked out before the rain hit.
Sunday I staggered in with my new Halloween Cards and gear. I knew it was going to rain late Saturday night, and took the important stuff home for the night. Apparently, no many thought about this and in the middle of the night during the party, there was a mad scramble to the artists area to move everything and tarp everything to keep artwork dry. This led to a big shuffle of artist tables before the doors opened again, but I’ve gotta say, it was a remarkable improvement. I got a new neighbor selling CGI leatherman erotica, and my other neighbor, Salvador and I got much better foot traffic.
Thorne from Instigator came by, and while he went wild for Salvador and the guy doing CGI art, I made Thorne stutter. We met at the fair last year, and hung out at Tom’s Bar this summer. He looked over my work, assuring me he wasn’t ignoring me after fawning over everything else, and stammered “your fe fe fem, your female art…” Thorne stared agape at the close up of a latex Domme inflating a butt plug in her sissy sub’s ass. “is intense! Are you gay or straight!?”

Thorne got a leatherman card and a paddle to take back to Instigator magazine for review. He’s a blast to hang with and I was proud to have his magazine on my table as reference material.
I’m running into a few issues with photos. Aside from 2257 issues, I’ll admit, I tend to be shy when it comes to events like this. The other thing is, there’s a lot of good photographers already coming to events like this to cover the artists, modeling, poetry reading and performances.
