For those of you who’ve found this site due to a press release on Xbiz, AVN, etc., welcome! Not only do I blog about my own artwork, but I’ll also write about other Fetish artists and talk about Fetish art news when I can.
Back in 1994, I was seeing a Domme who had a zine, wait, no one here knows what a zine is, damn, I’ll loose people if I try to explain it, oh fuck it, photocopied comic laying around that looked interesting. It had raw, powerful drawings of latex, weird half-man creatures and deities, having all sorts of weird sex. There were weird living mechanical things and aliens binding a shemale into an autofellatio position that looked so cool I damn near threw out my back trying it. (Please don’t try it. I found out the hard way it doesn’t work unless you have a big cock).
I’m going out on a limb here admitting that last part, but that’s to illustrate how awesome the artist was. That was Michael Manning, who had just recently moved to San Francisco from New York. That zine homemade comic was making some very big waves, and within a year, Michael Manning had released The Spider Garden. It was the most awesome adult comic I ever saw. It was so good, copies are now sold out, unless you read Italian.
20 years later, Manning has published at least 8 books, and expanded out the Spider Garden universe and storyline. His latest release is called Garden Initiate 4: Hydrophidian, is part of a series of portfolios about the Spider Garden universe. It comes with 10 duo tone and color 8.5 x 11, signed prints, along with background text about the characters contained in the portfolio.
Manning is also planning a kickstarter campaign to publish a 20th anniversary edition of the Spider Garden collection. That publication itself will be a highly-prized collector’s edition worth kicking in for.
