And I may now be afraid of Etsy…
I’ll admit. I’m very nervous about my Etsy account. It’s my first time selling through Etsy. I’m selling originals. This is all experimental for me. I have no idea what will sell, if anything will sell or if this will all backfire on me.
So, I’ve double checked pricing, and I also want to focus on trying to move the stronger pieces first. Something in me said I should look at the “mature listings” before proceeding further.
I almost laughed my ass off.
April Winchell once created Regretsy, drawing off Etsy’s weirder misfit listings. I can’t say I wasn’t warned. First thing that came up was a hand crafted, sculpted mankini. It was specially designed for the well endowed. The owner of this page is SomethingWildInCali, who happens to live on the east coast. She’s also got listings for crotchless underwear for both men and women. One g-string for men covers the butt crack, then loops around the cock and balls. If you’re looking for some custom panties for your sissy sub, she may be the one to craft something just right.
There’s a great guy named HankyCode that sells illustrated color bandanas with art that matched the hanky code. He also sells some nifty bondage gear.
Some of these are downright freaky, like the MotherFister, or the Gay Santa xmas card. I’ve lost count of needlepoint with profanity, vintage postcards, and sculpted vaginas. The good news is I don’t think I have to worry about my content as long as I handle the profile right.
So, I’m telling myself, deep breaths Jay, just stop looking at the Barbie spanking, and we’ll have our profile done by morning…
UPDATE: The Fetish-artist Etsy account is live! Just go to https://www.etsy.com/shop/FetishArtistGallery. I’ve started small, and will be adding more pieces there each week.
I’ve also found some other great artists and there is a fetish art community there. There may be some opportunity for cross promotion. I’ll keep you abreast of progress.
