Had a great time at the Sherman Oaks munch Tuesday. I highly recommend it! I’m planning to go there next month and I’ll bring the portfolios.
I was very seriously ready to call this Femdom art piece done today. I’ve got another piece I started at Tom of Finland Foundation scanned in, with color already started, and I have an adult publicity press release to put out tonight for my friends at Sanctuary LAX.
To be blunt, this piece has been a pain in the ass almost from the start. I picked up the rope work from Cassie’s Rope Munch at Sanctuary LAX. Worked it into a shemale bondage drawing. At one point there was going to be whipping, and CBT. That wasn’t working. I then got the inspiration to draw a Mistress in the background, and add the depth of a warehouse-sized dungeon in the background, with the submissive on the fucking machine. I’ve been trying some techniques I picked up from studying Virgin Finlay, but even that isn’t panning out the way I want. So, I reached what I felt was a stopping point. Call it. Done. Put it to bed. I scanned it in, and realized there was one thing I missed. What’s bugged the snot out of me is our bondage babe was cross eyed, something I’ve needed to fix the whole drawing through. So I started to fix it in Photoshop.
This has completely changed the game. Our bondage babe has been somewhat static, which added a touch of suspense, but being cross eyed just looked awkward. I changed the position of the eyes to looking down, so she’s looking towards her breasts. Damnit, I swear, I’m ready to put this back on the drawing board, pull out my white gel pen, and rework the eyes on the original. I also want to add in motion lines around bondage babe to give her a shiver of anticipation.
Welcome to the insanity of indecision that is part of being a fetish artist 🙂
But wait! There’s more!
Julie Simone will be at Sanctuary LAX September 17th-21st to kick ass, take names, and teach classes on how to tie people up. To schedule a session, call 310-910-0525
