Ok, much better. I got home last night about 7:30. From Porn Valley to USC is about two hours by Metro. In hindsight, I should reconsider just doing train into LA. By the time I finished with dinner, and got errands done, it was after midnight.
One of those errands was to finish the Femdom piece above. I’m debating on what to name it. For the moment I’m simply calling it Weights and Pulleys. I was calling it Futa in Bondage, but to be blunt, I’m not sure if our transgender subbie has that futa look. By the time I scanned it in, I could barely think straight.
It was a good show at the Los Angeles Science Fiction and Comic expo. I’m getting into a routine of how to find what I’m looking for. I broke the ice at the hentai booth. There’s a lot of stuff I just don’t recognize these days from Japan. I’m also getting used to seeing what’s conventional (lots and lots of cheap, mainstream comics), and what stands out.
AVN’s Mark Kernes was there selling his collection of very rare golden age comics, and my buddy with the adult dvd booth was there. It’s on, I’m setting up a table of my art with my dvd buddy at the next show.
I found the sketch for this in an old sketchpad the other day. I had started it for Fetish Nation, a club night in Hollywood. I don’t know what the theme of the event was, but I was going for a take on Paris is Burning, in this case, LA is Exploding. I like the impact of the old generator plunger boxes. The sketch itself was started with the intention of being quick and needing to be blown up to large proportions. This was one of the few things I could get away with working on while on the crowded Orange Line, on the way to the show.
After a while on the bus, you learn new techniques. Sketch and fill in large areas while the bus is moving. When the bus stops, work on detail. Takes a while to get used to, but it’s much better than being stuck in traffic with nothing to draw and no air conditioning in the car.
I’ve got one more piece to show off this week, but I want to color that in for you. So look for something new around Wednesday.
