What does one do for a vacation when you work at Adult Video News? Go to a porn convention in Las Vegas of course.
Sounds bizarre I know. At the time, I was still an “archivist” in AVN’s art department, and I was not required to work the Adult Entertainment Expo in Vegas, despite being invited to attend the expo and the AVN Awards. Working or not, the convention can be a blast. So I reserved a hotel room, got a ride out from Mark Kernes and took a week off to roam the convention and Las Vegas in general.
My friend Amy (the original owner of the Grey Mistress) was living in Las Vegas and asked me to meet her at the Las Vegas munch (where kinky people gather) at joint far from the strip. We got to hang out, catch up on things, and she introduced me to her Domme, Mistress Erin.
We got along great, and Mistress Erin loved my artwork. She asked if I would draw her and commissioned me to do her portrait. She calls it “A Brief Respite.”
The sketch was well underway, by her direction, with some ink laid in place by the time I left, and I mailed the completed piece to her once back from Vegas.
Alas, it has been so long, I have heard from neither Mistress Erin or Amylove. Amy may certainly flip if she finds out what happened to her bike 🙂 Maybe we’ll cross again on Fetlife or in Vegas.
