In 1994, I met Alondra, who introduced me into a larger part of the BDSM scene. Alondra was the one who I shared a space with at Lady Thorne’s Bizarre Flea Market and she also introduced me to Fantasy Makers.
Through Alondra, I met a writer named Lady Tanith, whom I became infatuated with. Let’s face it, it was a bit of a set up in our circle. Tanith was living with someone, but was on the lookout to add to her stable.
Writing how-to BDSM books was relatively new. Jay Wiseman’s SM 101 was still bound with plastic rings. Greenery Press was just getting started. Screw The Roses, Send Me The Thorns was just around the corner. Tanith was writing both fiction and nonfiction, and would occasionally self publish.
So it was a good time for a new edition of her popular how-to BDSM book, A Tangled Web. I whipped up a cover and a nifty little portrait of the Eurasian Domme.
There would be one more piece she would inspire, but you’ve already seen that before. I did an homage to Tanith in the 1996 Dominatrix calendar. She’s Mistress April.
