It’s time for some more art from the Dominatrix calendars…
August 96 was pretty cool, and I’ve gotta see if the original is still around. The shoulder pads come from an interesting story. I used to hang out a gun shop in Livermore called American Outdoor Sports Supply. One of the owners, Richard, was shooting at junk on private property. He was firing a .45 at a used tire, and heard a deep whizzing sound by his ear, like a fast bumblebee. Unphased, he fired another shot. It then dawned on him the bullets were ricocheting off the radial tires and heading right back in his direction.
Someone must have had a similar thought or experience, because soonafter, Wesley Snipes debuted used tire armor in the movie, Demolition Man. They may have been influence by Road Warrior though.
I was really proud of August 96, with her tire shoulder pads, tanto knife, angel wings, fangs, and nose piercing. It’s not quite the rubber fetish we usually expect.
Mistress December 1996 was very important to me. I have a serious Japanese fetish and love the idea of a geisha Dominatrix. I draw a major influence from Manga and Animae. I grew up on TV shows like Speed Racer, Star Blazers, Robotech, Captain Harlock and The Queen of a Thousand Years. In my college years, I just grabbed as much as I could get of Japanese art and culture. I even took a Japanese language course, and nearly failed it. Japanese is a hard language to learn. I remember working on this at the Exotic Erotic Ball, and also while at Fantasy Makers in the Bay Area. At the time, this was one of my favorite drawings.
If I remember correctly, the piece was donated to Sanctuary a few years ago.
The back cover was pretty simple this time, and I wanted to include a glimpse as to the art inside. Ms. March is currently hanging over the bed, next to Ringmistress.
