Art Deco Dominatrix

Warning! Dominatrix Construction Area!

I was going to draw the submissive as a tranny, but it just wasn’t working in the sketches. This came out much better instead.

The 90’s BDSM scene was a strange mix of styles. You could easily see a modern furniture piece, next to an art deco piece, in a stone or wood dungeon or playspace. I loved it.

BDSM furniture was also taking great turns and evolving for the better. While I had yet to see an art deco set of stocks, one play party featured a construction-style bed with overhead rails, winches, and more. It was fantastic. The only thing missing were flashing lights. So I had to incorporate the idea into this piece for September in the 1997 Dominatrix Calendar.

A couple more pieces have been uploaded in the 1997 calendar archives.

Once again, you can see the mix of different styles. The modern style toybag, the stone and wood background, the Gothic style candles. There was an abundance of 70’s style wood and  iron furniture that made the way into dungeons and play spaces. It originated as a popular faux Spanish or medieval style, which went out of style pretty quick, but worked well for the kinky. To be candid, I miss the style. I have two sets of bookends from Spain that look like they came from the Addams Family.

This morning, I was getting ready for Tour De Fat, a costumed bike run. While rummaging in the garage I had an opportunity to do a quick inventory of the framed artwork. It’s surprising what’s available. Most of this time I thought some of these were just sitting in one of the portfolios. Details will be posted when I have a free moment. Next on my list is getting some stuff ready for Michael Ninn, Rubbertime, and our real estate friend.
